Detail: We are an affordable, traditional martial arts school serving the Connecticut-Metro area. We specialize in teaching not only self-defense, but instilling self discipline and self worth in our community. Stratford Shotokan offers traditional Japanese trainings and philosophies to students of all ages through our certified instructors. Our instructors hold over 40 years of experience combined in the arts of traditional Shotokan Karate and the evolution of sport karate under the tutelage of Errol Bennett, Sensei. Stratford Shotokan is directly affiliated with Shotokan Karate of America. We teach the art of Shotokan Karate with the exact principles and goals of the founder of modern karate Master Funakoshi. Our Dojo holds a strong, direct lineage to Mr. Tsutomu Ohshima, Shihan of Shotokan Karate of America. Mr. Ohshima, Shihan holds a legacy as being the top Karate-ka who has ever studied under Master Funakoshi.
