Detail: Rick Heath and his wife Jan run Standale Karate. Together they have been involved in owning and running martial arts schools for over twenty years. Rick has thirty-four years of practicing the martial arts and is a 7th degree Dan. He was inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2008 and received his PhD in Martial Arts at the same time. He is dedicated to the healthy lifestyle martial arts can bring to an individual and these practices are incorporated within the classes. It is not a focus on just learning the arts. Rick believes cardio and strength training are just as important as learning the necessary techniques required to advance in the martial arts. Jan is the Business Director of the school. She is dedicated to the kids and families that attend the school. Her strong belief that Standale Karate is a family, not just a business, is clearly evident as she focuses on the details that help every student reach their full potential.
