Detail: Founded in 1963, WRA is a not-for-profit organization made up of 100% volunteers. Our operational structure falls within the Whitpain Township Parks & Recreation Department and we work closely with them and other organizations in the area such as the Wissahickon School District and The Whitpain Township Board of Supervisors. Our governing body is the Whitpain Recreation Association Board of Directors whose members are elected and serve terms of 3 years. Responsibilities include operational, financial, administrative and individual Sport Chairpersons who continue to offer quality sports programs in a safe and fun environment. Travel Soccer offers a more competitive environment than the Intramural Program. Players must first try-out and if selected, are assigned to a team by age. Travel Teams play against other townships and club teams in the area and most away games are between 30-45 minutes from home. Home games are played at Wentz Run Park. The WRA Intramural Soccer Program provides a fun introduction to the game, giving kids the chance to learn fundamentals and rules of soccer.
