Detail: We are a Memphis, TN based soccer club formed in 2009 and we welcome youth soccer players from Shelby, Tipton, Fayette and DeSoto Counties. This club has a Competitive as well as a Recreational aspect to it. We are open to all youth players under the age of 18 regardless of skill level. RECREATIONAL: This side of the club, this Fall season, has about 300 registered players both girls and boys. Ages range from 3 - 10 year olds. This program is a partnership with the City of Memphis Parks and Recreation and is aimed at taking soccer to the communities within the Memphis inner cities and making the sport affordable to all. Soccer is a way of improving the health of the youth as well as keeping them off the streets and away from drugs, violence and other mischief. Besides the above benefits of taking soccer to the Memphis Communities, training for the kids in developing individual soccer skills and technique will be provided thus bringing them at par with kids of similar ages in other soccer playing countries in the world. In the Spring season we intend to double our player base to 600 youngsters all yearning to learn the skills that have made others legends world wide. COMPETITIVE: UNIDA Soccer Club was established to give the youth players a competitive environment to challenge themselves, while at the same time building friendships and bonds that will last a lifetime. It also teaches that while it's great to win, winning isn't everything. Sometimes it's the journey that will be remembered rather than the outcome. Discipline, sportsmanship, team spirit, unity, and the will to never give up are some of the important aspects of our programs. These concepts will stay with the players for the rest of their lives, and we strive to make a positive difference. We teach our kids through the concept of soccer to develop team spirit, leadership qualities, unity of purpose, hardwork and the three D's Determination, Devotion and Dedication. UNIDA (Portuguese for UNITED) Soccer Club is focused on teaching the concepts and fundamentals of Brazilan soccer that have made Brazil a soccer powerhouse in the world. Our teams will be playing in the MSSF league, Tennessee State Leagues, GMSA leagues, and different tournaments within and outside the State of Tennessee. Players age 8 to 18 are welcome to join UNIDA.
