Detail: Established in 1955, SYAA is a nonprofit organization that provides recreational programs year round to local residents. At SYAA, "It's All About the Kids." We offer Football, Cheerleading, Flag football, Soccer, T-Ball, Baseball, and Softball. We teach the youth importance of responsibility and commitment of being part of a team. Most everything you see at the SYAA Complex is built, maintained and ran by volunteers. We receive no funding from the state or county. We operate mainly on sport fees and donations from the community and parents. Objectives:A. To encourage all members, adult and youth, to act in socially useful ways and to foster positive relationships between youth and their parents. 1. Adults through leadership, organizational ability and involvement, capacity to cooperate in working with others, and an awareness of the worth and dignity of every person.2. Youth through self discipline, team loyalty, honesty, fair play, sportsmanship, respect for the rules of the game, and tolerance of others with different ideas and abilities. B. To develope physical skills and to develope and maintain physical efficiency; muscular strength, endurance, coordination, speed and agility. 1. Physical skills: movement, specific sport, and safety related. 2. Physical efficiency: muscular strength, endurance, coordination, speed and agility. C. To enjoy wholesome physical recreation. 1. Provide recreational activities to meet the needs of the community. 2. Developement of sufficient skill to provide enjoyment and continuation of the leisure time activity.
