Detail: Northern Kentucky Soccer League was established in 1977 and is the oldest and largest soccer league in Kentucky. NKSL is a non profit corporation that is devoted to promoting soccer in the Northern Kentucky area and is a member of Kentucky Youth Soccer. NKSL consists of a volunteer Board of Directors and home to 7 member clubs, who utilize the NKSL to obtain membership into Kentucky Youth Soccer. NKSL is the administrator of the Recreational soccer league in which 12 local clubs enter soccer teams for league play. The NKSL is not a recreational or select soccer club. NKSL brings all the recreational clubs in the Northern Kentucky area together to form league play. NKSL has the adminstative function of creating the recreational league schedules for each soccer season. Depending on the number of teams within each age bracket there may be different playing levels for a recreational team. NKSL has the ability to register select soccer players. This is generally used when select teams are formed for tournament only teams and do not wish to play in a select league.
