Detail: Nashville Soccer United (NSU) : Our mission ... Safe. Fun. Learn. In that order? Yes! That is our mission at the core. Grassroots - There is a need here in-town Nashville, and we are working to build something for the long haul - slowly, steadily, naturally. Parent-driven - We need YOU, Mom and Dad. We need you, want your involvement, opinions, ideas. Parents drive the train at NSU. Inclusive - a place for everyone no matter what skill level or financial status. No child, no family left behind. Neighborhoods and families. No huge soccer complex? No problem. Soccer is a ball and some grass, mix in some families, plant it in the neighborhoods and watch it grow. Our parents and teams schedule practices at convenient community locations such as neighborhood parks and schools. Outreach - growing soccer in Nashville. Involve kids who can't arrange or afford to go to suburban rec soccer leagues. We'd like to provide opportunities for these kids who won't get exposed to soccer otherwise. We hope this outreach will stick with a reasonable percentage of those we reach. If we do, that will be a good thing. They may find a sport for life. Free component - there will always be a free component. Our Saturday morning kick-arounds have been dubbed Free Soccer Saturdays. It has been great to watch kids of all ages practice and play together and enjoy the world's favorite game. Teaching. Coaches, parents and teammates who will help kids learn about soccer, but also much more. Children will learn by doing, life lessons ... being on a team, responsibility, making decisions, sportsmanship, being active, making friends and much more. Soccer is a lifetime sport and at Nashville Soccer United our young soccer players learn lifetime lessons that they take away from the soccer field and into society. Our soccer players and families develop an appreciation of life skills that are acquired through our development programs, designed to motivate soccer players of every ability. Although our focus may be on youth soccer development, we also teach team work, sportsmanship, cooperation and community spirit!
