Detail: The Merrimack soccer program provides an opportunity for Merrimack youth, ages 4 to 18, to play recreational and competitive soccer in an environment designed to promote learning, teamwork, fun and the joy of soccer. The recreational program is a fall and spring season activity. The fall program runs from the beginning of practice in August through early November. The spring program starts in April and runs through June. Started in the 1970s with only a handful of teams , the recreational program has in excess of 1200 players. We offer coed divisions in the U6, U8, U10, U13, U16 and U19 age groups in both spring and fall. The Merrimack Soccer Club was created to provide the children of Merrimack, NH the opportunity to play competitive travel soccer against players of similar commitment and desire from other towns, communities and regional teams within the Granite State Youth Soccer League (GSYSL). Our club’s goal is to promote the game of soccer in a fun and positive atmosphere where our players can become the most technically skilled soccer players in the area. This will be accomplished by maintaining a soccer environment that teaches age appropriate soccer skills and sportsmanship by licensed coaches and assisted by professional trainers, who will focus on total player development. We will utilize the core principles of the GSYSL Early Development Program (EDP) to build a strong foundation of young players that will grow as players using the EDP Methodology. By doing so we can ensure as our players mature they will have the confidence and skills necessary to compete at the higher levels of competition within our organization, High School and Collegiate levels.
