Detail: Hunter Soccer Club began in 1962 as a response to a call for physical fitness from the President of the United States, at the time, John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Originally called St. Luke's Soccer Club, it was made up of a group of Cub Scouts under the leadership of John Hunter. Hunter is one of the old, non-profit clubs in the Delaware Valley and is one of the original founding clubs of the Intercounty Soccer League. Hunter tries to blend the teaching of individual skills while at the same time instructing team tactics and strategies in the playing of the game. There is great emphasis on team work, comradery, sportsmanship and discipline. We try to blend all of the above together with a backdrop of fun. Hunter also maintains adult leagues and an adult male team and at times, an over 30 team, while the teaching there is certainly less foundational than the younger squads, Hunter's senior team, as the youngsters, play for the love of the game and the competitiveness of engaging an opponent.
