Introduction:	Sorgho Elementary School provides students a large gym, nice cafeteria and courtyard, science lab, art room, stationary computer lab, wireless computer lab, outdoor classroom and many other facilities which enhance education. Enrollment has increased the past few years, with a current enrollment of 585 students and over 75 faculty and staff. Enrollment includes students Kindergarten through Fifth grade plus students in three district wide units for emotional behavioral disability and preschool students. Sorgho also has three preschool units of 3 and 4 year olds which includes special needs preschool students from other schools in the district. Sorgho Elementary is a school-wide Title I school. We participate in many community-based programs such as Reading Mentorship and Theater Workshop of Owensboro and Arts in the AM. Throughout the year parents are involved in the school through various activities, some of these include Volunteer Workshops, Family Reading Nights, PTO, and Family Resource Parent/Child Involvement Nights.
