I am very disappointed in the faculty and staff at DeSoto Trail's EDCP program. This is the second year my daughter has been denied a spot in the aftercare program for reasons that don't make sense. I was incorrectly charged and then denied service last year. The director, Jeriesha Carter, went out of her way to ensure utilizing the drop in care was almost impossible for me to use last year. Now this year I have been told they are saving spots for new students but I could send her 1 day a week. I prepaid prior to the school starting and was denied a spot. I received an email that informed me of this and that my refund in the amount of $185 would take 4 to 6 weeks to receive. 

I will be unnecessarily inconvenienced again this year. I am a single, full time working mom who had to depend on my elderly father last year, however this year I can't due to him beginning his battle against cancer. This is an additional stress for my family that we didn't need during a very difficult time.  I have never encountered school staffing that lacked empathy and has no concern or understanding for one of their students.

I have multiple emails communicating the situation my family had been encountering from last year. I simply don't have the energy to argue again this year. 

I feel the staff has unprofessionally gone out of their way to refuse service for my daughter and has made using these services almost impossible. 

I have tried to register my daughter before the start of both the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school year in an effort to reserve a spot only to be denied. I don't understand why my refund is going to take 4 to 6 weeks to receive. 

 Someone should remind the staff at DeSoto Trail that all children are to be treated equally the same. Discriminating against one child is unethical and not tolerated.
