Detail: Traditions are strong at the Salem Y. The Salem YMCA has offered school age child care for 15 years. School age child care at the Y has become each child's neighborhood. Our 165 children involved in afterschool care spend every afternoon with their friends swimming, playing games, performing plays, doing homework and having a great time. Our downtown, central location and the close proximity to the Salem train station makes Y child care convenient for working parents. Child care has become a parental necessity. The Salem YMCA supports families by providing safe and affordable child care for parents that work to improve their economic stability. Our child care programs provide opportunities for children to develop physically, intellectually and socially by participating in a wide variety of age-appropriate activities. Our family nights provide all children the opportunity to spend extra special times with their family.
