At the GLOW YMCA we license our School Age Child Care (SACC) programs through New York State's Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS).  Licensing our SACC programs through NYS ensures that the following standards are met:

  • Parent Involvement: Parents are the key to quality child care and have the right to visit the program at any time to observe or visit their child.
  • Adult-Child Ratios: Stricit regulations are used to assure that your child is properly supervised and receives the attention they deserve.
  • Training & Experience: All staff are required to have previous child care experience and must receive ongoing training in 9 topic ares including nutrition, child abuse prevention and program development.
  • Inspections: Licensed child care programs must be inspected at least once before renewal (every 2 years).
  • Complaints: The NYS OCFS maintains a statewide, toll free Child Care Complaint Line at 1-800=732-5207.
