Detail: OUR PHILOSOPHY The Boys & Girls Clubs believe every child has the potential to be great. In support of this strong conviction, Clubs strive to build driven and independent adults. The Boys & Girls Club family ' a community of staff, volunteers, parents, youth and supporters ' work together to create a positive place, full of hope and opportunity, for every child. WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO Many communities in Tampa Bay are facing a crisis of soaring high school dropout rates, low health and fitness levels in youth and rising violence. We believe that socioeconomic challenges in these under served communities, such as inadequate housing, health care, and employment opportunities, put added pressure on families and their children. Given that these communities often lack the capacity and resources to address these challenges, children are not afforded the necessary opportunities to learn and grow, to be their best.
