The owners and chief instructors of Elm Street Martial Arts are Robert Dus and Lisken Van Pelt Dus. The director of the childrenâ€™s program is Rich Cote. Robert has been teaching karate for almost thirty years. He is an eighth degree black belt in karate and a third degree black belt in kobudo (weapons). Lisken is a seventh degree black belt in karate, a third degree black belt in kobudo, and a teacher by profession. She has been teaching martial arts since 1984. Rich is also a teacher by profession, and has been training in martial arts for twenty-five years. He is a sixth degree black belt in karate. Bob and Lisken have travelled to Okinawa multiple times for training, and all three have dedicated years of their lives to mastering their arts and the teaching of them. They are assisted by an able staff of assistant instructors, all third degree black belts or higher.
