Details:
Honshin Kan provides training in various martial arts, including Danzan Ryu Jujitsu, Akkido, Shaolin Kung Fu, Women's Self Defense and Seifukujitsu. Honshin Kan styles are traditional Hawaiian and oriental with an emphasis in Hawaiian teaching style referred to as Kokua. It reflects the close family ties of the Hawaiian culture with cooperative and trusting relationships in which the more experienced student teaches the newer student. All benefit from such a style in development of character and respect that leads to more profound experience in personal development. Hon Shin Kan means School (Kan) of Orignial Mind, the True Spirit. This real mind of Hon Shin is your true natural self. The true self moves naturally, automatically, without thinking, in a moment, without regard to concerns of life and death. The philosophical foundation of Honshin Kan is based on the principles expressed by Professor Henry Okazaki in The Esoteric Prinicples. It is the philosophical underpinnings expressed in his development of Danzan Ryu martial and healing arts--the Kappo and Sappo. Honshin Kan was founded over twenty years ago by Professor Robert Hudson. The school was passed to his students Jeff Penner, Racelle LaMar Penner and Lisa Goldoftas in 1993. The senseis of Honshin Kan are committed to serving the students in their development through martial arts offered at Honshin Kan. Honshin Kan is served by seven senseis and four assistant instructors. Safety is a primary concern at Honshin Kan. All classes are directed by a qualified instructor. Honshin Kan is an active member of the American Judo and Jujitsu Federation in good standing.
