A non-profit organization, Sedgwick County Soccer Association (SCSA) was founded in June of 1991 by a small group of soccer enthusiasts who were interested in merging KJSF and WUSA into a unified soccer league. Today, we have over 200 teams that involve over 3,000 players, 400 coaches and many fans including parents & grandparents. Each weekend, SCSA competition brings out an average of 2,000 people to our 60-acre sports complex in south Wichita. Most teams come from the Wichita area, however some travel from communities such as Hutchinson, Salina, Newton, Derby & Hays to compete. The primary purpose of SCSA is to provide opportunities to enable youth players, ages 4-19, to realize their potential in the game of soccer by developing their skills and knowledge to the greatest extent possible. Our goals include: Providing a safe environment in the highest quality and best-organized league possible; Encouraging teams to participate in competitive play against teams from other areas through tournaments; Help prepare individual players for higher-level competition, including high school, college and state team play; Encourage development of soccer by sponsoring referee and coaching certification clinics to help upgrade the local skill level in these areas.
