Details:	The West Haven Academy of Karate in New Braunfels, Texas ( WHAK-NB ) was opened in December of 1993. In May of 2001, the school moved to it's current location, 1323F Industrial Drive. Currently, WHAK-NB has promoted 141 Dan members (1st Degree Blackbelts) since it's inception. WHAK-NB has also promoted, 66 second Dans (2nd Degrees), 20 third Dans (3rd degrees), and 4 fourth Dan master instructors; Sa Bom Nim David Brandt a Captain in the United States Air Force, Sa Bom Nim Brittny Wolda, and Sa Bom Nim Lois Riley and one fifth Dan, (5th degree) Sa Bom Nim Hoke Nunan The success that WHAK-NB has had can be directly related to the family atmosphere that fills the school throughout the 31 classes per week. The weekly schedule offers flexible class times as well as rank specific classes, which students can take advantage of everyday if they wish. WHAK-NB also offers special "Karat-A-Tot" classes for 4-5 year old students. Three students from WHAK-NB have opened full time Tang Soo Do Mi Guk Kwan schools. They are Sa Bom Nim Hoke Nunan who owns the Tang Soo Do Academy of Cedar Park, Texas, Kyo Sa Nim Jon De La Garza, 2nd Dan who owns WHAK-Sequin and Kyo Sa Nim Melanie Mearse, 2nd Dan who owns the WHAK-San Marcos. WHAK-NB also offers a yoga class every Saturday mornings at 8:45am as well as many special classes and clinics throughout the year which enhance every students martial arts experience.
