Details:	Newcastle Karate is a black belt school where black belts out number beginners offering a unique opportunity for committed students to be exposed to a higher level of martial arts instruction. The school is located at Warners Bay and the class size never exceeds 20 students. Unlike a lot of martial art schools where you can easily get lost in the crowd, each student at Newcastle Karate receives focused instruction by the senior instructors. Newcastle Karate practice Koryu Uchinadi, KU is a modern interpretation of Okinawa's historic fighting art and has an application based curriculum. Whilst there is large amount of hype about mixed martial arts, or (MMA), Koryu Uchinadi is the original mixed martial art. Defensive methods such as kicking, punching, strangulation, choking, joint locking, grappling, pressure point manipulation are practiced in Koryu Uchinadi. A completely systematized method of learning/teaching for children and adults, delivered in a traditional atmosphere, honouring both the culture from which it comes and the master who pioneered its practice, Koryu Uchinadi is both an art and a science. Koryu Uchinadi is best explained as a functional and practical defence against the various â€œHabitual Acts of Physical Violenceâ€. Most karate schools are competition oriented and their training is geared towards that outcome. Newcastle Karate is application based, functional program, unrestricted by rule bound competition.
