Details:	Suffolk Aikikai was founded in 1994 by Sensei Gene Monteleone and his wife, Debbie. At our dojo, we practice in a serious yet non-threatening manner in the clean, safe atmosphere of a traditional Japanese Martial Arts School. Members of the dojo come from all walks of life: students, lawyers, bankers, law enforcement, and tradesmen. When we step onto the mat, however, we are all simply students of Aikido. Beginners and advanced students all practice together so that all can benefit from the experience and knowledge of the higher-ranking members. Suffolk Aikikai is affiliated with the United States Aikido Federation, under the direction of Yoshimitsu Yamada Shihan, and the Aikikai Hombu Dojo in Japan, under the guidance of the grandson of O-Sensei and the present leader of the art, Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba.
