The American Martial Arts Institute offers a variety of programs that meets the needs of men, women, and children of all ages. The American Martial Arts Institute is under the direction of its founder, Grandmaster Clifford C. Crandall, Jr. who is assisted by many certified adult black belt instructors. The main office and full-time location is located in the state of New York. In addition, there is one satellite location in Albany, NY. The primary style taught at the American Martial Arts Institute is American Eagle Style, a traditional empty-hand martial art style formulated by Grandmaster Crandall. American Eagle Style has a traditional heritage of Korean (tae kwon do), Japanese (okinawan goju-ryu), and Chinese (wu shu, tai chi chuan) styles with self-defense. Grandmaster Crandall is also the Headmaster of Takenouchi-Hangan-Ryu-Matsuno-Crandall Iaido (traditional samurai sword), a title bestowed to him by the late Headmaster Tsuneyoshi Matsuno. Under Grandmaster Crandall's supervision, the American Cane System and Cane-Fu are also taught. The school's main location the Northeast Headquarters for the Cane Master International Association, offering weekly classes, Cane Master Seminars, and Cane-Fu.
