Details:	Neil Stone's Karate Academy (NSKA) is a unique school, dedicated to positively serving both our students as well as our community. NSKA is a 'one-of-a kind' Martial Arts Academy in many respects. We enable our students to consistently make positive changes in their lives, we aid the local community through direct involvement and as a school contribute to society in general. Through life lessons learned in martial arts, we enable each student to experience personal growth, balance, and overall well-being. When our students improve and develop, not only as martial artists, but also in their everyday personal, family, and work life, then we succeed. NSKA equates itself as the "Harvard University" of martial art academies. Similar to this esteemed school, we are steeped in rich tradition, dedicated to the highest standards of excellence, and committed to developing our students to be the leaders of tomorrow. The academy was established by Mr. Neil Stone, a 6th degree black belt with over 25 years of martial arts experience and over 20 years of teaching tenure. He began teaching in 1990, and has faithfully dedicated the past two decades of his life to teaching and developing students in the martial arts. The Neil Stone's Karate Academy was built in September of 2004 as a place of respect, where everyone is treated as family, and where all students support each other throughout our journey in the martial arts. We offer a variety of student programs for children, teens, and adults. Our unique character education program is called S.T.A.R.S., and is a significant part of our children's program (See Programs). The development of mind, body, and spirit play an active role in our student's success in the academy and in their everyday lives. With consistent practice, NSKA helps our students learn how to unite their mind, body, and spirit to stay centered and focused on what is most important in their lives. We practice an ancient style of Martial Arts called Uechi-Ryu. It is an Okinawan method of self-defense, which emphasizes the use of blocks and strikes. It is a form of Chinese kickboxing developed for 'close quarters' defense, which many believe has a more realistic application in today's world.
