In Korean, tae means â€œto strike or break with footâ€; kwon means â€œto strike or break with fistâ€; and do means â€œwayâ€ or â€œmethodâ€; so (TaeKwonDo) is loosely translated as â€œthe way of the foot and fistâ€ or â€œthe way of kicking and punchingâ€.
