Our Dojo, The Shugyokan Dojo is literally translated as "HOUSE OF AUSTERITY". The term "Shugyo" can be defined as training with such intense attitude that cultivates mastery and a perservering mind-set. We follow the principles and philosophy as set forth by the Founder of Matsubayashi Ryu , Shoshin Nagamine Sensei. He fervently believes that the dojo is the place where courage is fostered and superior human nature is bred through the ecstacy of sweating in hard work. It is the sacred place where the human spirit is polished. At the Shugyokan Dojo, our black belt instructors work diligently to provide our students with the best training to succeed physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually by providing a challenging curriculum to help students achieved whatever it may be in their karate training.
