Detail: Mr. Dave Converse with wife Barbara opened Martial Arts America in Plainfield, IL to provide professional self defense instruction to the whole family. Mr. Converse has been a student of the Marital Arts for over thirty-five years and an instructor for over twenty of those years. Mr. Converse holds black belts in two different styles of Martial Arts, a masters rank of sixth degree black belt in the style of Ryukyu Kempo and a masters rank fifth degree in the style of Modern Arnis. Students learn a blend of two styles RYUKYU KEMPO and MODERN ARNIS. These arts have historical battlefield roots, but, have been modernized to be effective self defense. Our classes focus on fighting only if we must, and, what we study will work well for a smaller person. This is true self defense.
