Detail: Hakutsuru Kai was established by James R. Gaines in 1991 and is a fully accredited Okinawan organization. James R. Gaines is also part of the North Central Community College and Universities Board. He, along with Ed Claypool founded and currently administrate Hakutsuru Kai with sensei Gaines as the founder/adviser. Sensei Ed Claypool holds the position of Kaicho or President of Hakutsuru Kai. The Shuri Te and Naha Te divisions of Hakutsuru Kai were developed by sensei Gaines although the Naha Te is now being further developed by sensei Tim Prodyma.
