Detail: San Jose Judo Academy is a member of United State Judo Federation (USJF); USA JUDO, Northern California Judo Association, Hokka Judo Yadanshakai. We pride ourselves in serving the community with a means for families and individuals to enjoy Judo as an organized sport or recreational activity. Here at San Jose Judo Academy, we are more than just Judo. The kids, juniors, adults will learn the self-defense techniques like combat sport - takedown one's opponent to the ground. With practices, they will master the falling techniques, grappling, forcing, and throwing an opponent. As Judokas grow and master new techniques, they earn new color belt and move up the higher rank and become stronger Judokas. We also enforce rules to promote respect and responsibility. We also teach the chokes, and joint-locks techniques. For chokes and joint-locks, proper technique uses little to no energy. However, the philosophy did not end there. It extends that Judo is a style not revolving around violence or killing. This is a means of improving one's own self physically, mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and morally. Sensei My Nguyen is a multiple gold medalist who coaches her students to regional competition medals, yet strives to make Judo casual and enjoyable in a non-hostile environment. She is a Vietnamese woman who has 10 years experiences in coaching Judo for all ages. Hopefully, she could bring you a very quality Judo lesson of how to master "Judo way" or "gentle way", how to move with the force and how to use the attacker's force to your advantage. JUDO - FITNESS AND SELF- DEFENSE FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY! JUDO - A GENTLE WAY TO OVERCOME A STRONGER OPPONENT! JUDO- A SOUND MIND IN A SOUND BODY!
