Detail: Alameda Aikikai offers beginning through advanced classes in aikido, weapons, Iaido, as well as Zazen meditation. Alameda Aikikai was established by Mike Flynn, Shihan in January 1991 and is affiliated with Birankai North America established by T.K. Chiba, Shihan. Chief Instructor Elmer Tancinco, 5th degree black belt, Shidoin, studied directly under Mike Flynn, Shihan. He is also a graduate of the Kenshusei program, a rigorous teacher training program for dedicated practitioners of the art who are devoted to transmitting and preserving aikido. He has taught at National Universities, and taught seminars in United Kingdom, Portugal, Australia.
