Detail: Originally, "Collette Martial Arts" was started in a garage in Sunnyvale, CA. We offered a single group class 2 times a week to adults and children alike. Eventually, we moved into a commercial location in Mountain View, CA, and had to change our curriculum to match what was being offered by the other commercial schools in the area. After nearly a year in business, we decided to go back to our roots; the garage dojo in Sunnyvale. With the help of a few other Black Belts and some of the students from around the Bay Area, we drywalled the garage, installed a better floor, installed a massive mirror, moved the washer and dryer outside to a covered area built by students parents, and installed a closet around the hot water heater (thanks to Rod Reape and Mark Dingli, Alemany Kenpo folks). We are back to the hard-style Kajukenbo. We are here to teach and learn self-defense at the most primal level we can push ourselves to. Our training is different than you will find in most commercial settings, our lifestyle is a bit more intense, and we are better at what we do overall than most people. We live on the event horizon. "The workout's not over till there's blood on the floor." -- Adriano D. Emperado
