Detail: Ying Jow Pai, (Eagle Claw Kung fu) is a complete martial arts system that is known for its pressure point and joint locking techniques. Eagle Claw Kung fu is most effective at close range. Although there are many long-range techniques such as kicks, sweeps, and open hand strikes, Ying Jow Pai is known for it’s grabbing techniques which is most effective when being in close contact to your opponent. Ying Jow focuses on developing power in the fingers and wrist. Without power in the fingers and wrist it is difficult to execute the Eagle Claw properly and you will not be able to control your opponent. Eagle Claw locking techniques are designed to control your opponent. By becoming proficient in the 108 locking techniques an Eagle claw practitioner can control an aggressive situation without seriously injuring their opponent unless they have no other choice. The goal of Martial Arts through proper training is to develop the mind and body so they may work together in a controlled way, thus to help the student to achieve a higher level of performance. Sifu Slaughter’s Chinese Martial Arts Center specializes in teaching Northern Eagle Claw Kung Fu (Ying Jow Pai) Ying Jow Pai is a complete system of martial arts. Teaching joint locks, (Chin Na) ground fighting, and pressure point techniques. At the Advanced level of Ying Jow, there are no preset movements. Through continuous training an advanced student can sense their opponent’s intentions. This is one of the higher levels of training in Ying Jow Pai and Chinese Martial Arts in general.
