Detail: Big Foot Gym is the Eugene, Oregon branch of the Thai Boxing Association of the U.S.A. Big Foot Gym celebrates the spirit of the Thai martial arts and strives to keep them authentic, not to sway with changing fads and flavors of the month. The spirit of Muay Thai and Krabi Krabong is strong and pure and based on good intentions. Big Foot Gym strives to preserve and perpetuate this. We also offer Western Boxing training which is an integral part of the Muay Thai repertoire. The workout at Big Foot Gym is personalized to the individual: each individual gets feedback. At the same time, we work as a group: all levels train together. At Big Foot Gym, a student is like a piece of artwork: should be shaped and molded until their Muay Thai is beautiful. We work hard and laugh a lot. We have high spirit of camaraderie which helps people become confident enough to push themselves. Muay Thai can be started at any time of life, you don’t have to be in perfect shape or perfect health to begin. You don’t have to beat yourself up: Muay Thai training is great exercise and excellent stress relief. You learn discipline and develop self-esteem. Big Foot Gym shows how training applies to broader aspects of life: respect for others, humility (=keeping ego in check), general awareness of human life, and culture.
