Detail: Heitor Abrahão holds a Black Belt in Judo and a Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under Master Ricardo de la Riva - the only person to beat two Gracies in a single day of competition. Heitor Abrahao is also an official Black Belt under the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation. Originally from Florianopolis, Brazil; Abrahão was the South Brazilian Champion for 3 years, Santa Catarina Champion for 3 years, and a State Judo Champion for 5 years. When Abrahão came to America he wanted to bring more than just his competitive spirit. His mission is to help everyone learn the benefits of the Jiu Jitsu lifestyle. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has something to offer every student young or old, male or female. Roughly translated as the "art of yielding" Jiu Jitsu emphasizes technique over power, a clear mind, awareness, flow, self-control and has been a proven self-defense system for people of all sizes even against larger and more aggressive attackers. As students learn to control themselves in order defeat their opponents they gain the confidence to face other challenges in life. Heitor Abrahão invites everyone to come try Jiu Jitsu at any of his locations so that they too can learn the benefits of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
