Detail: "We enter to learn; we leave to serve." West Karate is a newly formed non-profit karate school located in the Gallery Building on Sunset boulevard in Steubenville, Ohio. We formed our school after suffering the devastating loss of our Sensei, Master Clarence West. He passed suddenly, in November of 2008, in a fire that consumed our karate school in Wintersville. His death was an unexpected shock felt by his students and our community as a whole. Master Clarence West was a beloved teacher and respected businessman who was widely recognized for his unending generosity, self-discipline, boisterous personality, and flamboyant attire. In appreciation for the tremendous impact he has had on so many lives, we continue to share his legacy by carrying on his unique and original martial arts style, Wae Kune Do.
