Detail: Yamabushi Kai was established in 1982 by Miguel Ibarra, Hanshi. This is a blending of Mi Yama Ryu Jujutsu and Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu techniques for street self defense. Hanshi Ibarra trained directly under Shinan Antonio Pereira; Shinan Hector Negron and Soshi Shihan Katsumi Yonezawa. Additionally, Ibarra trained/studied under other noteworthy Daito Ryu/Takeda Ryu instructors of international status. Hanshi has been training for over 44 years and has been teaching for the last 28 years. He has been recognized at the rank of Judan [10th Degree Black Belt] by numerous organizations including the American Jiu Jitsu Assocition. Miguel Ibarra, Hanshi holds a Bachelor's Degree in Pschology and a Master's Degree in Counseling from Fordham University. He is a retired law enforcement officer after having served 25 years with the the NYC Probation Dept. where he was in charge of the Warrant Squad, Intelligence Unit, Gang Suppression Unit and all Special Projects. He retired in 2005 holding the position of Asst. Commissioner.
