This teaching experience enabled him to follow his dream to open his own dojo. In 1995, Sei Shihan and his family moved to New Jersey. Sei Shihan continued to teach in NYC. Because of the daily commute and long hours away from his family, Sei Shihan decided to open a karate school near his home. In October of 1997, he opened the doors to Sana Seido Karate in Garwood, New Jersey. Sei Shihan was determined to build a family of Seido students in this new location. Now, fifteen years later, many students of all ages have joined the Garwood dojo. Students are able to experience a calm, reflective place to train. Classes begin and end with meditation. We foster a positive atmosphere, encouraging each person to try their best, giving 100% to their workout. Karate is an efficient form of physical conditioning. It also teaches self-defense and develops discipline and concentration. Try a class on us and find out for yourself the benefits of Karate.
