Detail: Our kung fu family has a well known lineage and we have many relative branches around the nation. Our school is named after Moy Yat who was the youngest student named Sifu (master) under Yip Man in Hong Kong. After Yip Man's death in 1962 Moy Yat brought kung fu to NYC and began our prolific american kung fu family. Moy Yat was a successful artist and was commissioned by Yip Man to carve the ancient sayings and philosophies of kung fu into stone. This knowledge is referred to as the Kuen Kuit and we still apply these philosophies to our training today, keeping the system authentic. We have an ancient tradition of touching hands with new students for a free introduction lesson. You are welcome to visit the school for a free lesson on Monday at 7:30pm and play the first form and drill with active students and instructors. This experience of 'feeling the kung fu' cannot be replaced by a book or video. We have no belts or testing fees. We say to 'leave your ego at the door'. We rarely have injuries and our training style is suitable for people of all ages and genders. Kids classes will begin this spring.
