Since that time, the academy has provided quality, traditional instruction to hundreds of students in Southeast Missouri. Chief Instructors Larry Whitener and David Nichols maintain a watchful eye on the academy to insure that the highest standards are maintained. Baker's Karate Academy has a rich martial arts heritage and we maintain the high standards passed down to us. Frequent visitors at the academy include living legends, masters and champions who share their knowledge and skills with our students. All of these things contribute to the success of our students. Students receive intense training in basics, traditional forms, traditional weapons, sparring, and grappling (standing & ground). Sport karate training is also included in the curriculum. Techniques, tactics and concepts come from a variety of arts, including Taekwondo, Judo, Jiujitsu, and Filipino/Indonesian arts . CERTIFIED INSTRUCTION means that our instructors have taken the time to actually train in and receive certification in the variety of arts that make up our curriculum. It is that level of dedication that sets us apart. Baker's Karate Academy offers safe, exciting and challenging classes for students of all ages.
