Detail: The Washington Soccer Club (WSC) was founded in 1990. Since that time, it has had travel teams play in and win all divisions of National Capitol Soccer League (NCSL). The WSC is one of two clubs in the District of Columbia that are members of the three metro travel leagues i.e. National Capital Soccer League (NCSL) for boys, the Washington Area Girls Soccer League (WAGS) for girls, and the Old Dominion Soccer League for boys and girls. WSC has sent 6 players from their travel teams to MLS (Major League Soccer) and numerous more to Division I soccer programs. Three WSC players, one girl and two boys, have been selected to US National Teams. In this regard, the first American to score a hat-trick in international competition was Judah Cooks - who played with the WSC Lancers, the club's first 1st Division team. WSC has supported recreation soccer since the 1990s. The Club was a partner in the Snickers Youth Recreational Soccer Program and the Ward 4 Soccer League at Takoma Recreation Center. In 2009, the WSC assumed the organizational leadership of the soccer program at Takoma and expanded the recreational league for boys and girls 3 to 12 years of age.
