Detail: The Charlotte United Futbol Club (CUFC) was founded in 1995 as the US Regional Soccer Association, a 501(c)(3) organization, to provide the Charlotte community with a true soccer alternative. The club adopted its new name, Charlotte United Futbol Club, in early 2000 to reflect its place in the greater Charlotte region. The club continues to identify itself to the principles of Commitment, Loyalty, Excellence, Achievement and Responsibility (CLEAR). From its initial team in 1995, the Club has evolved today into one of the leading sponsors of Classic and Challenge teams in the state of North Carolina and fields 28 men's classic teams and 31 women's classic teams. In conjunction with the Charlotte Junior Soccer (Charlotte Speed), Harris YMCA, Hellenic Park, Morrison YMCA, Park Sharon AA and The Palisades, Charlotte United also sponsors 70 Challenge teams. Charlotte United provides a positive environment for young players to learn, play and compete in the world's most popular game. The Club has positioned itself to become the CLEAR choice for youth soccer in the Charlotte area.
