As with many other martial arts, Taekwondo is a combination of combat technique, self-defense, sport, exercise, entertainment, and philosophy.There are multiple interpretations of the name Taekwondo. Taekwondo is often translated as 'the way of hand and foot. Taekwondo consist of four disciplines which are: Forms (Poomse), Sparring (Gyoroogi), Self-defense (Ho Shin Sool) and Breaking (Kyukpa). Taekwondo is popular with people of all ages and gender. You don't have to be an athlete to enjoy the many benefits of Taekwondo. It trains body, mind, and spirit. It is a sport and a martial art for everyone.
